4 Reasons to Sign Your Child Up for Preschool

May 15, 2019

Not all children are enrolled in preschool. While it’s not a requirement in the education system, the team here at Lil’ Rascals Academy believes that there are so many ways in which a child can benefit from preschool. In today’s blog, we are going to touch on a few of the reasons that you should sign your child up for preschool. Once you’ve discovered the many benefits of preschool, feel free to browse our programs and curriculum to see how they could change the life of your child. Now, let’s get started.

Social Development

The early years of your child’s life are going to be spent at home. While there’s absolutely nothing wrong with your child getting comfortable spending time with their immediate family and your closest friends, their social skills need to develop beyond that. Preschool not only provides your child with a way to develop their social skills with individuals outside of their inner circle, but with children their age, which can be difficult to do outside of a classroom.

Educational Preparation

A common misconception is that very little learning is done in preschool. While the lessons may not seem challenging, the lessons taught in preschool are the foundation to everything that will be taught down the line. This foundation is priceless and something that your child can only develop with quality time with a teaching professional. From colors and numbers to the alphabet and shapes, your child will be able to learn so much in this one year of life.

Create a Schedule

Having a schedule is essential, not only for you but for your children too. Again, this is something that can be difficult to incorporate within your home. If you’re looking for a way to help your child develop a routine, preschool is a fantastic way to do so. This will help them get accustomed to getting up at a certain time, leaving the house, and spending the day doing activities that engage their mind and senses. Ultimately, a schedule is going to help your child transition to kindergarten.

Enhance Communication

The last point that we are going to cover today is communication, and by no means is it the least important. We touched on the fact that your child will have the opportunity to communicate with children that are their age, but this social interaction isn’t the only way that they’ll benefit. Preschool is a time for your child to learn words, develop their language, and gain the skills needed to properly communicate. Children will also learn how to properly communicate their wants, handle conflict, and express their feelings.
