Davie
Young children face many challenges when heading into their school years. Distractions from technology, difficulties with reading, math, and language, it’s an adjustment that can be difficult for new students. With the V.P.K. program in Davie, FL, your child can get a head start on their learning. Voluntary Prekindergarten is a program that allows new students to join a classroom where they can become familiar with the classroom setting and enhance pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills. When children have an opportunity to practice learning before kindergarten and develop these skills, they are more likely to become curious learners, strong readers, and will continue to be successful students in the years to come.
V.P.K. is much more than learning from books, though. Along with math and reading, the qualified teachers in the program will teach and be a strong example of character traits such as honesty, respect, responsibility, self-control, tolerance, kindness, and citizenship. When students are able to interact with each other in a supportive learning environment, they will grow to be excited about learning.
The Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program – V.P.K is a free pre-kindergarten program for four and five-year-olds who reside in Florida. Children must be four years old on or before September 1. Parents can enroll children in this free program or wait until the following year when their child is five.
There are two V.P.K. programs available:
- The school-year program includes 540 hours of instructional time and begins in August.
- The summer program consists of 300 instructional hours and begins in June.
Both of these programs will set your child up to have a bright education and a successful future. With high literacy standards, age-appropriate curriculum, and manageable class sizes, children can enjoy experiencing the classroom while learning and gaining knowledge that will help them in the following years.
